Goth crocs are officially a thing now and the internet is going wild for the dangerous-looking version, complete with chains and spikes. And it's available for just $260.
Crocs are undoubtedly one of the design world's true puzzles. Who the heck wears them in the first place? For what earthly reason do people say that they are extremely comfortable when they clearly look so hard and squeaky? What's happening? What is life? Who am I? These are a few puzzles of the universe that will always intrigue us!
In addition, it's without a doubt safe to state that Crocs are the Marmite of the shoe world. Over the years, we've had them in numerous manifestations – including, high-heeled, grass-covered or as slippers – yet we're not certain they're ever going to be considered cool in the actual sense!
There are a lot of reasons with respect to why numerous individuals despise them. They're both delicate and squishy yet hard and firm, hot (that rubber must make your feet sweat) yet cool (a lot of ventilation holes), they're agreeable for the wearer, however, awkward for any individual who sees them, water-resistant and not (once more, holes).
One individual, however, has truly endeavored to make them trendy! Is the only way to make Crocs cool is to make them risky at the same time?
It appears as though that's what one seller thinks, who has recently modified a chic dark pair of the rubber footwear to make it absolutely cool, goth, and impractical!
All things considered, the plot has now thickened considerably more, because of the release of these GOTH CROCS! What's more, as any Goth fan will let you know, they do unquestionably tick all the boxes – dark, unsafe looking metal spikes, and chains. Yet, toward the day's end, they are still Crocs!
Dubbed the 'Goth Crocs', they have been spotted on Etsy, where they're being sold for $248.62, in addition to the delivery charges, by US store Heavy Cream.
The modified shoes, which are made by Instagrammers @garbage_b0y and @lhommeboy, highlight nickel-plated spikes and treated steel chains.
You can even buy an add-on accessory in the form of a long chain that can join to your pants. Additionally, the item description on the Etsy website reads, "Punk spike crocs to make your feet into the final form rare Pokémon they were meant to be. (PATENT PENDING) Made by @garbage_b0y (Instagram) and sold by HEAVY CREAM."
"The spikes are nickel plated and the chain is high sheen stainless steel. Unisex, if you're unsure about size add it as a note to seller. Add-on: a chain that runs from hinge to belt loop on pant leg as shown in pictures. (This is not the chain on the side of the shoe)," the description concluded.
Naturally, somebody questioned the safety of such a design decision and the originator of the goth crocs, garbage_b0y was quick to reply that 'hadn't gored anybody yet!' We'd give it time though!
