Woman Texts Dead Dad's Phone For Years, Gets An Emotional Response From A Grieving Stranger

Chastity Patterson, 23, sent messages for four years on her dad's phone and was 'shocked and grateful' when she received an emotional message from a stranger.

In a way to keep her father alive in her memories, Chastity Patterson, 23, sent her father Jason Ligons messages with daily updates on her life. Past week, just like every other time, Chastity messaged her dad a night before his death anniversary, saying, ‘Hey Dad, it’s ME. Tomorrow is going to be a tough day again!’ The girl sent a long text to her father, telling him about her life and her victory against cancer and graduating from college.

So when Chastity got a response from a man named Brad, needles to say Chastity was shocked. Chastity said she was ‘shocked and touched’. The man had lost his daughter in a tragic car crash in 2014. Brad told Chastity that her messages over the past few years kept him alive.

Brad’s message read: ‘Hi sweetheart, I am not your father, but I have been getting all your messages for the past four years. ‘I look forward to your morning messages and your nightly updates.

‘My name is Brad and I lost my daughter in a car wreck August 2014 and your messages kept me alive.

‘When you text me, I know it’s a message from God. ‘I’m sorry you lost someone so close to you, but I have listened to you over the years and I have watched you grow and go through more than anyone.

‘I have wanted to text you back for years, but I didn’t want to break your heart.’ He added: ‘You are an extraordinary woman and I wish my daughter would have become the woman you are, thank you for your everyday updates, you remind me that there is a God and it wasn’t his fault that my little girl is gone.

The man signed off the emotional message with a sorry and telling Chastity, ‘I am very proud of you.’ Chastity shared the message on her Facebook account and said that getting a response from Brad was a sign for her that 'everything is okay' and that her dad is at peace.

Talking about her dad, Chastity told that Jason was not her biological father but, ‘never missed a school dance, prom, my games’. She said: ‘I’ve cried with him, told him everything and even became very independent because he took the time to love me and show me what happiness looks like.

‘SO YES Jason was my father but he was a role model for many kids in our town.’
