A new trend called ‘wedding dress parties’, giving women around the world a chance to rejoice their wedding day apparel, is breaking the social media.
Based on the available statistics, the average price of a wedding dress in the U.S. is $1,574. The worst part is, after being worn once, these dresses are thrown into the storage.
However, thanks to a recent trend, dubbed ‘wedding dress parties’ women around the world are taking those dresses out of storage. Who wouldn’t want to feel like a princess all over again at an all-women or dare I say, an all girl’s party?
The idea was initially passed by Christine Burke, owner of the ScarryMommy.com blog. She was inspired to throw a wedding dress party in 2017 after she discussed the possibility with a group of friends. This idea was sparked by the first episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, where Monica, Rachel and Phoebe hung out at their apartment, drinking beer and eating popcorn in wedding gowns.
This brilliant idea has helped women feel special and pretty all over again by letting them live their special day again. It has helped them rejoice their expensive wedding dressing with close friends who were not there on their wedding day.
Where many people are loving and embracing this idea, there are many people who think that expensive wedding dresses should either be upscaled, donated or resold. Some people were also of the opinion that it is better to invest in a rental then spending thousands of dollars on the wedding gown.
However, the choice ultimately depends on you. Let us know in the comment section whether you will like to resell your gown or wear it again at one of the trending wedding dress parties?
