The U.S President Donald Trump has been named "Loser of the Year" by a German news magazine Der Spiegel. On the same day Time magazine named both President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris its 2020 Person of the Year.
According to the Huffington Post, the United States president, Donald Trump, has been named "Loser of the Year" by respected German news magazine Der Spiegel, one of Germany’s most-read magazines. "Trump's presidency ends as it began: Without decency and without dignity," Der Spiegel declared.

Der Spiegel awarded the informal title in an article on Thursday. The news broke on the same day Time named both President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris its 2020 Person of the Year.
The magazine bashed Trump for refusing to accept defeat in the presidential election along with his approach to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Donald Trump always played down the pandemic, then fell ill with Covid-19 and became a super spreader," Der Spiegel summarises.
Ever since he was projected to lose the presidential election to Democrat rival Joe Biden - the now president-elect - Trump has repeated voter fraud claims.
He was “never concerned with the common good, but always with one thing — himself,” write journalists Roland Nelles and Ralf Neukirch in an article headlined “Der Verlierer des Jahres” (The Loser of the Year).
“Nothing is normal under Trump,” The article translates, “He refuses to admit defeat. Instead, he speaks of massive electoral fraud, although there is no evidence for it. The whole thing is not surprising. Trump’s presidency ends as it began: Without decency and without dignity.”
German-American relations can “only get better” with Biden, a top German official told Der Spiegel on Friday. Biden is “predictable, reliable and anything but a hothead,” the article noted. “The most important thing is that he’s not Trump.”
At the end of every year, the publication elects one person or group believed to have been the most newsworthy or noteworthy.
The magazine's editor-in-chief noted the President-elect and Vice President-elect won the honor for 'changing the American story, for showing that the forces of empathy are greater than the furies of division, for sharing a vision of healing in a grieving world'.
US top doctor Dr. Anthony Fauci was named as one of Time's Guardians of the Year, along with Black Lives Matter advocates Porche Bennett-Bey and Assa Traore.
