Academy-award winning actor Tom Hanks recently took to Instagram to tell his fans that he and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for Coronavirus and are currently isolated and following the standard protocols for public health and safety according to the WHO guidelines.
Oscar-winning star, Tom Hanks has revealed that he and wife Rita Wilson have tested positive for the Coronavirus. Hanks took to Instagram to break the news to his fans. According to him, the couple sought medical advice after experiencing body aches and symptoms of flu.
The couple was on the Gold Coast as Hanks is busy with his Elvis Presley movie shooting. According to the officials, they are now isolated in a stable condition at an Australian hospital.
Their diagnosis came shortly after the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the coronavirus outbreak to be a pandemic.
Hanks wrote on Instagram: "We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive".
The Academy Award winner wrote that he will keep the world "posted and updated" about his and Rita's condition.
In 2013, Hanks revealed that he was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. According to Diabetes UK, people suffering from the disease are more prone to suffer severe symptoms of this virus and have issued an advice on how to take precautions.
