Loubie is an adorable dog from New York who loves to cuddle people that may include strangers as well! Whenever she goes for a walk with her owner Cesar Fernandez-Chavez, the precious pet stops on her way to meet and greet strangers. If someone is lucky, Loubie also blesses them with a hug by wrapping her forelegs around their knees. According to Chavez, she learned doing so all by herself.
“It’s just not a regular walk. It’s a walk with hugging. So we don’t get to go too far,” Fernandez-Chavez said.
Before hugs, Chavez shared that Loubie was fond of holding people's hands. How cute is that?
“She started sitting up and grabbing my hands with both of her paws and then crossing the other paw over her paw. I remember joking with my friends, ‘At least I have someone to hold hands with during Valentine’s,’" Fernandez-Chavez added.
According to Loubie's owner, it was seemingly a comfort response for her, but passers-by couldn’t help but stop to comment.
It took a few years for Loubie to change her way of expressing affection. The cute animal now prefers to hug rather than holding hands.
“She gets a very good grip, depending on where I’m standing. I have to make sure that I’m keeping well-balanced,” Fernandez-Chavez said. “We’d run into neighbors that she knew, and instead of just leaning on them, she started hugging them, and then random people who would come to us.”
The adorable pet might be the friendliest creature on the planet but she doesn't hug just anyone and sometimes can become very picky while choosing her friend. When asked about it, Chavez explained that she needs to bond first.
