After the “Joker” movie became a big hit, movie fans, and Instagrammers are flocking to the famous staircase where Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck celebrated becoming The Clown Prince of Crime. Among other famous tourist attraction sites in the Bronx, the staircase has made it to the must list for tourists to visit the site. The #Jokerstairs trend has already been tagged 900 times on Instagram and has been on Google Maps as a religious site. However, local residents are not very happy with the hype, “We hope it ends soon because we don’t need this,” Jonathan Francis, a 29-year-old who has lived in the neighborhood his entire life, told Gothamist. “We feel disrespected.”
