An adopted cat who has extra toes and has feline leukaemia turns out to be a hero as he saves the family from a major gas leak accident. She sniffed out the smell and that led to leafing the family to get to know the issue.
Cats are such beautiful creatures, however they can be annoying too but they make their place in your heart and house on their own and earlier than ever imagined.
A very shocking and life saving incident happened when a family’s curious cat who has more paws helped them sniff out a gas leak in their Lake Oswego home.
Sandi Martin, the cat owner said she was playing with her cat Lilly, when she noticed her a bit disturbed and how she was sniffing around the valve that goes to their fireplace. Sandi wanted to know what was disturbing Lilly and what actually she was smelling so she leaned down to sniff, and recognized the odor of natural gas.
She first got it checked by her husband who also confirmed the odor and then she called NW Natural to have a professional come check out the leak. They were there in more or less 20 mins even after the snow and ice.
Sandi said, “He tested the valve and saw that we had a dangerous gas leak”. “It could have been a disaster, but instead it’s a nice thing, she helped us.”
Sandi adopted Lilly from the Cat Adoption Team a while ago and she is a cutie plus now a saviour too. She has feline leukemia which makes the lifespan of the cats shorter after being diagnosed. Moreover, the cat has extra toes and it is said that cats with extra toes are considered lucky, which seems to be the case for Lilly.
This shows how pets are a blessing in one way or another. They can actually be good partners too if you live alone.
