The celebrity chef and restaurateur, Guy Fieri has once again won our hearts by raising a huge relief fund for unemployed restaurant workers. And this fund led to an extension of his pact with Food Network for another Three years! The more Guy, the merrier.
The famous "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" host made headlines for his huge relief fund for helpless unemployed workers from the restaurant industry which had to face a big setback due to COVID-19. Honestly, there are very few people left with empathy on Earth who feel the pain of others and do something to make it better for them. But Fieri has proved himself to have humanity left in him.
Each employee whose application is submitted would be rewarded $500 through the relief funds website.
"This industry is hurting bad," Fieri said. "We've got tens of thousands of restaurants that are closed. We've got restaurants that aren't going to recover and aren't going to come back."
Guy told how he wrote personal emails to a few big names who could contribute to the relief fund. However, some of them didn't donate but Fieri didn't name and shame them.
Guy said that so many people went to the website of the fund leading up to launch day that it actually crashed. "It just shows how much need there is," Fieri said.
Fieri has been working to promote the relief fund donations through social-media events like the May 15 nacho showdown he hosted on Food Network's Facebook Live with actor Bill Murray.
"Restaurants have been serving us for so long," Fieri said. "Now is a chance for us to serve them." Also, he had his pact signedwith Food Network extended for another three years and that's fantastic news. As we love to see him on TV with his amazing recipes, cooking tricks, styles, and a lot more.
