A newborn baby from Wuhan survived Coronavirus as well her heart disease. The babygirl did not even need any medication for the viral condition and recovered on her own. "She even grew bigger and fatter here," her doctor said.
A 17-day-old baby left the hospital of Wuhan after fully recovering from Coronavirus. The baby was born to a patient with the same virus but luckily, she was able to fight the virus and get healthy within a few days. What made doctors happy was that the child recovered on her own without the need for any medication.
According to the doctors, the newborn baby was admitted the same day she was born but was not giving medication for not having obvious symptoms.
"The girl, known as Xiao Xiao, had an infection in her respiratory system and minor myocardial damage. She did not have obvious difficulties in breathing, did not cough or have fevers, therefore we only gave her treatment for her myocardial condition," said Dr. Zeng Lingkong, director of the Department of Neonatology at the hospital.
Dr. Zeng further added that the baby had recovered fully from coronavirus as well as her heart disease. "She even grew bigger and fatter here," he said.
"This reminds us to pay attention to a potential new transmission route of the coronavirus - vertical transmission from mothers to babies," Dr. Zeng said while drawing attention to a possibility of the disease transfer from mother to children.
