It has been announced by professionals that families should avoid playing board or card games on Christmas this year for they can become a cause of Covid-19 spread.
British Government advisory body, Sage has suggested that children and elderly relatives should keep distance this year and that other members of the family should also avoid mixing too much. Since the virus does not seem to disappear, for now, it is completely sensible for people to keep in mind that Covid will not stop spreading on Christmas or other holidays.
According to Sage, even though it might not be as fun as Monopoly or Scrabble, a socially distanced quiz would be a safer and better option for families to bond over.
The guidance points issued by the organization include wiping down surfaces and door handles for they can be a source of virus transmission as well.
Other than the board or card games avoidance, it has also been advised for people to skip sleepovers this year. Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick says that folks should eat their Christmas dinner with the windows open to prevent the virus from spreading.
"There are lots of different options, from the whole family coming together at home to perhaps meeting up for lunch with the windows open, or going out for a walk on Christmas Day," he said.
