Jennifer Lopez's Versace Green Dress Has Again Taken The Industry by Storm. A petition titled Stop Jennifer Lopez And That Green Dress has popped up on Change.Org and has already garnered over 4 thousand signatures from fans who have had enough of her dress and think this "terrorism needs to stop."
Jennifer Lopez knows how to steal hearts and remain there. Now her green versace dress has taken pop culture by storm and she is clearly making history.
The 42nd Grammy Awards, held in February 2000, were notable for some reasons. One of them was perhaps about Jennifer Lopez wearing the Green Dress to the awards. It was designed by Donatella Versace, a flowing silk chiffon with jungle-print gown with a long neckline that plunged to Lopez’s waist.
Donatella Versace designed this gown for a Milan runway show in 1999, but it was only when the designer herself wore it that Lopez took notice of it's details and charm.
Many things were affected by this amazing dress and remained with its flashbacks. Also, as Google noticed the massive surge in searches for photos of the Lopez's dress, they created ‘image search’ (before this, all search results were just text and links). This dress just remained there for too long.
When Jennifer Lopez wore that Versace print dress to the Grammy Awards in 2000 she broke the internet. Millions of people went to find pictures but Google Image Search wasn’t invited yet. That dress inspired Google to create it. Here is JLO in the Versace S/S 2020 in a remake. pic.twitter.com/ZD2ftT1ozN— Karen Civil (@KarenCivil) September 20, 2019
Same thing happened earlier this year, where Jennifer wore a similar green Versace dress with a quite similar print but some people seem to have enough of it. And a petition came over which said "Stop Jennifer Lopez And That Green Dress."
This petition appeared on a website named Change.Org and you would wonder how this petition has already garnered over 4 thousand signatures from fans. These were those fans who have had enough of the iconic look she made and they also think that it's real time for Jennifer to move on.
"For many years we as a society have been terrorized by Ms. Jennifer Lopez and her green dress which she wore at the 42nd Grammy Awards ceremony on February 23, 2000. A group of people recognized it as a significant pop culture moment and it all went to Ms. Lopez's head seeing that she reminded us of it and re-wore it for 20 straight years. We are tired and her terrorism needs to stop."
However, many J.Lo fans are defending her.
But do you think this is how things should be and Jennifer should follow what people are thinking and stop wearing what she admires. Some fans supported her all the way with her Versace dress. And thought how it was her own personal matter.
