Barack Obama spoke about wife Michelle's goal of never getting captured in a swimming suit on camera. "'This is one of my main goals as first lady. I will not be photographed by the paparazzi in a bathing suit,'" Barack recalls his wife telling him. "And she succeeded."
Recently we have seen that former President Obama was quite actively participating in support of president-elect Joe Biden. But in one interview he claimed that he had no interest in taking any part in activities going on in the White House. He is just supporting Biden. He also jokingly said in one interview that Michelle will leave him if he joins politics again. In a recent interview while promoting his memoir The Promised Land he claims that one of the main goals of her wife Michelle was to not be in a Bikini throughout his presidential tenure. And he believes that she had been quite successful. However, in 2018 she had been seen on Miami beach in "High Waist Bikini". On which some people criticize her while some people appreciated her.
"There’s that part when you go to the beach with Sasha, and Michelle doesn’t go, and she says that was her one aim as first lady: to never be captured on film in a bathing suit," Ward says, adding: "I couldn’t stop laughing."
The former president says in response: "Well she wasn’t joking about that."
Obama added: "She was serious. 'This is one of my main goals as first lady. I will not be photographed by the paparazzi in a bathing suit.' And she succeeded."
And it would look as if Michelle succeeded in her ambitious target, as The Independent notes that the former first lady was never photographed in a bathing suit over Obama's eight-year presidency.
Michelle was, however, pictured on a Miami beach wearing a white bikini top in 2018.

Michelle was also the target of ridicule and harsh remarks from social media users, while getting several compliments on her gorgeous casual look - with some people criticising the weight of the mom-of-two or that she was "too old" to wear a bikini.
Barack Obama also argued during the promotional tour of his book that Republicans falsely depicted white males as "victims" in the recent presidential election as a way to win votes.
The former POTUS believed that this racially driven white martyrdom complex was part of the reason why President Donald Trump in the 2020 elections got more than 73 million votes.
Speaking with radio host DJ Envy, Obama stated:
"What's always interesting to me is the degree to which you've seen created in Republican politics the sense that white males are victims.
"They are the ones who are under attack – which obviously doesn't jive with both history and data and economics. But that's a sincere belief that's been internalized. That’s a story that’s being told, and how you unwind that is going to be not something that is done right away."
Obama also talked about some of the pressure he felt to motivate black communities and combat racial discrimination and injustice under his presidency.
Obama said: "When I was elected there was so much excitement and hope, and I also think we generally view the presidency as almost like a monarchy in the sense of once the president’s there, he can just do whatever needs to get done and if he’s not doing it, it must be because he didn’t want to do it."
