Hairdressers and barbers are right up there with doctors in that they hold one of our most precious asset in their hands: our hair. However, this one lady wasn't that lucky!
Some of the time it appears as if beauticians and hair stylists overlook exactly how much power they have - one errant cut with the scissors or a poke excessively far with the scissors and you've destroyed somebody's whole identity/day/week. The whole ordeal can be truly hazardous!
One lady who knows very well indeed the power that hairdressers possess is 22-year-old Lucy Burrows who says her self-esteem has taken a crash after a dodgy haircut appointment.
Lucy, from Swindon, wanted an in vogue, shaved-in undercut style for her long hair, so brought a photograph she'd seen on Instagram to Barber n' Bar in Cheltenham.
In any case, in the wake of giving over £20, she says she was left with what was can be described as a wreck of wonky lines, that left her seething and genuinely imprinted her self-confidence as well.
Lucy said: "They absolutely destroyed my hair and confidence and I couldn't even go to work because of this."
The business account supervisor says the salon at first would not admit their error, however, that in the wake of picking up a complain, she was eventually discounted the £20 she paid for the cut and an extra tenner 'for her upset'.
Lucy says that she went in for the trim the whole way back in August yet that her hair is just now simply beginning to recoup.
"I still can't wear my hair up at all and it looks so bad and messy," she said. "You can't tell as much anymore but it still feels very thin to me."
Adding: "After a long argument, the hairdressers admitted they did do it to me and sent back £30 but I am still half bald which obviously isn't great."
Consequently, Barber n' Bar was approached for comment, however, no official statement has been received as of yet.
Moreover, it's only fair that the lady should be reimbursed adequately as she says her self-confidence took a rather major downfall subsequent to the haircut disaster.
Be that as it may, this isn't the first occasion when we've seen somebody left in tears in the wake of getting a 'trending' trim.
Who can overlook the poor chap from China who, simply a month ago, wound up with a gigantic triangle shaved into his head after he demonstrated the hair stylist a screenshot of what he wanted and he indeed got it - including the 'play' button!
Images of the haircut and paused video were shared by blogger 'Tian Xiu Bot' on China's Twitter-like platform Weibo.
The post got 20,000 comments and 78,000 likes and was shared over 22,000 times. The blogger joked: "There are not so many rigorous hairdressers like this left."
