Kit Harington a.k.a Jon Snow recently revealed that he had a rather NSFW filming accident during his first dragon riding scene on Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones debuted the previous evening, and the web is totally going nuts over it (pun intended). Fortunately, HBO likewise just dropped a behind-the-scenes video taking a look at the creation of the first episode, and in it, Kit Harrington recounts a genuinely wild story about nearly losing one of his balls.
The mythical dragon ride in the previous evening's scene of Game of Thrones was a relatively new experience for both Jon Snow and actor Kit Harington. In the show, Jon thrashed around and yelled on the back of 'Rhaegal'—Daenerys' dragon named after his dad, Rhaegar—as he and Dany hovered over the frigid hill scape of the North.
In actuality, however, the procedure was similarly as awkward, if not agonizing. It might have been an epic scene that Game of Thrones fans invested years foreseeing, in any case, as it turns out, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) riding a majestic dragon was not a very wonderful encounter off the camera for GOT star.
Like his co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Harington had to film his dragon riding scene before a green screen on a mechanical bull-like machine called a 'buck'. From that point, the mythical beast's body and the foundation of the scene were filled in through enhanced digital visualizations.
The work was "not easy," Harington clarified in a behind-the-scenes GoT video arrangement called 'The Game Revealed'. In the BTS video, Harington and VFX producer Steve Kullback went into detail about how Daenerys and Jon’s scaly joyride came to fruition. At a certain point, the riding scene got so harsh that he got kind of had to endure an NFSW injury.
"There was a bit when Jon almost falls off the dragon, swings 'round really violently like this, and my right ball got trapped and I didn't have time to say stop. And I was being swung 'round. In my head, I thought, 'This is how it ends, on this buck, swinging me 'round by my balls. Literally.'" Harington said.
He additionally laughed off the hilariously horrifying incident, adding, "Sorry, Probably too much information," We totally get you Kit! And let us assure you that it's definitely not too much information, however, it's extremely hard to keep a straight face while recounting the rather horrifying incident.
This BTS video additionally plunges into each one of those passionate reunions, battle scenes, and obviously, the make-out scene between Jon and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), complete with phoney choking once the directed shouted cut. It's unquestionably an absolute must-watch for all Game of Thrones fanatics!
