Kelly Osbourne, the actor cum singer, has always faced issues with her weight. She has been quite transparent with her struggle and has lost 85 pounds over the course of a year.
Many people struggling with weight like to keep their struggle to themselves. However, over the years, Kelly Osbourne has shown us that there is no shame in sharing your struggles with the world.
The British actor cum single has been known for keeping it real. She has never shy-ed away from tough or awkward subjects, and those rules still apply when it comes to her sharing her non-scale victory. Osbourne has always been incredibly candid about her struggle with her weight.
For those who don’t know, she is Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s daughter. However, the spotlight was not very kind to her. In 2010, she revealed how growing up in the spotlight was not easy.
“I was called fat and ugly in the press, almost my entire life. I understand that being judged by others comes with the territory, but it broke my heart and ruined my self-esteem. It sets you up to hate yourself in a huge way. I was so angry about the things people said about me. I truly believe it’s the main reason I turned to Vicodin and ended up in rehab three times. I just hated myself.”
Whatever Kelly went through highlights everything that is wrong with our society.
After coming out of rehab for the third time in 2009, Kelly resorted to food as her source of comfort. Which, of course, led to massive weight gain.
Like most of us, she is an emotional eater.
She went on to credit her weight loss with her time on Dancing with The Stars, where she learned about nutrition.
“I’d fill up on French fries and pizza all day and wonder why I wasn’t losing weight. In the very beginning, I kept getting sick during rehearsals because I was eating such terrible, fatty food and feeling so exhausted. I used to eat chips and cookies and drink soda all day long. I had to start making better choices. I indulge with pizza and cheese-I love Brie-and have cookies sometimes. But now, when I’m full? I stop eating! It may have taken me 26 years to figure it out, but I’ve finally learned how to do it right.”
The actress calls 2020 “year of me.” At the beginning of 2020, the 35-year-old stated that 2019 had been a year of “tremendous growth,” and that 2020 was “going to be the year of me!!!”
In a recent post, she revealed she had lost a huge amount of weight while chatting with The Real co-host, Jeannie Mai’s mom, who exclaimed, “Oh my gosh, you lost a lot of weight,” to which Kelly replied, “That’s right, Mamma Mai. I lost 85 lbs. Since I last saw you. Can you believe it?”
Her journey through weight loss and self-discovery is actually amazing and has inspired many to be happy with themselves no matter what shape they are.
