Kate Middleton is a super mother too along with all of her responsibilities of being in a royal family. She has to deal with all the pomp and show when being in the public eye. This led her to invent a few code words and tactics to deal with her children in public.
Kate is known for a lot of useful things like philanthropy, kindness, and a decent personality. But when it comes to children every parent needs to have a bit of control either through being strict or just discovering some tactics to stay in control.
Even Kate's children are a little too daunting to deal with in public sometimes although they are well trained and decent children being children.
All of it comes down to Kate's more modern parenting style in the end.
"Kate is a sensitive and warm mum," Chicot, the founder of essential parenting, added. "This is called an authoritative style of parenting that is now encouraged. This is compared to autocratic parenting that was encouraged in some circles in Victorian times (e.g. children should be seen and not heard)."
As far as we can tell, Kate's kids are seen and heard, and she is too kind and caring. Maybe that's why we are seeing their little personalities come out more and more every day. She has invented some code words for her children to handle in public. One of which is "let's take a break" instead of calm down. This leads them to stay cool and within limits.
Another technique Kate uses is touching her kids on the head. If they're misbehaving in public, a small tap is all it takes to remind them to stop what they're doing. Although this may not be enough for some children, it sounds like it actually works for Kate's kids.
"It’s very hard for any parent to have to parent in public. She seems to be good at making warm contact ‘touch to the head’ which is a nice connection," parenting expert Dr. Rebecca Chicot said.
Kate's also known for getting to their level to explain things. And she does the same with her children and gives them the deserved importance. "She gets down to their level to talk to them but lets them be children," Chicot said. "She has a lovely balance of sensitivity and gentle boundaries. She doesn’t expect them to behave like little adults and knows that children go through perfectly natural stages like tantrums."
We'd say that's accurate! We've seen Kate Middleton's kids acting like kids in public and like decent ones all the time. She reigns them in when necessary, but they definitely get the chance to be themselves.
The ‘code words’ to let George, Charlotte know that it’s not the time for fighting, sulking, or crying is working superly for her.
