On Monday, Justin Theroux announced the death of his and ex Jennifer Aniston's pet dog. Dolly's death caused both the stars to come together to grieve. Aniston's friend, Courteney Cox also sent her support to the actress and old friend, Jennifer via Instagram.
Justin Theroux, on Monday, came to Instagram to announce the death of a dear dog that he and Jennifer Aniston had adopted together. The Leftovers star also uploaded some pictures from the funeral of Dolly that exhibited the reunion of the two actors over their dog's departure.
Theroux is seen celebrating the life of beloved Dolly by placing photos over her body, which was laying on a white blanket. Another shot showed two people whom some speculated could be Theroux and Aniston - holding hands over Dolly's body.
In one of the pictures, the former couple's other dog (terrier named Clyde) could be seen as well.
The death of Dolly brought both the stars together and they celebrated the memories of their dog together. Justin also wrote a post on Instagram to share their grief.
"Tonight, at sunset, after a heroic struggle... our most loyal family member and protector, Dolly A. laid down her sword and shield. 🐺💔," Theroux captioned the pics. "She was surrounded by her entire family."
Theroux concluded his emotional post by sharing a quote from former U.S. Senator George Vest.
"'The one that never deserts, the one that never proves ungrateful... is the dog -- faithful and true, even in death.' -George Vest," Theroux quoted.
The 47-year-old actor also encouraged the adoption of dogs by concluding his post with hashtags. "Rest In Peace Dolly #adoptdontshop #rescuedog."
Dolly was clearly important to the former couple, so much so that, in a 2018 Architectural Digest spread, they appeared to have a portrait of the pet in their former home.
Friends actress Courteney Cox commented under Justin's post to show support to her friends in their grief. "We love you dolly," the star wrote with broken heart emojis.
