This couple from Texas decided to send their cutouts to their children and grandchildren so they would be happy and enjoy their Thanksgiving fully. "Family love is not going to change whether we're there or not," Missy Buchanan said after sending the cutouts to her four grandchildren.
Thanksgiving is an occasion that has gatherings and relatives coming to meet you. Every year it is celebrated with deep feelings and excitement but this year, with the fear of pandemic lingering everywhere around us, we need to look for other ways to celebrate the occasion.
Many families are confused about what to do especially about the elder members of the family who are more exposed to contract the virus.
So, to cope up with this a Texas couple came up with a clever and safe way to be with their grandchildren and family. Because now they can't meet their family in-person and be a part of the celebrations.
The couple told her kids that a large box is on their way, but didn’t give away any hints that would have spoiled the surprise.
And in that box, Missy and Barry Buchanan sent life-sized cardboard cutouts of themselves to their daughter in California and their son, who also lives in Texas. This means you can have pictures with their cardboard pictures and enjoy the moments.
This way, children would be happy to celebrate and they won't miss their grandparents continuously. The couple posted the idea online and many people seemed to like the idea too. As due to the pandemic large family gatherings are a big risk and would further spread the disease only and put the senior members of the family in danger.
