Girlfriend takes to social media to show displeasure after boyfriend proposes with Grandmother’s Ring

This girlfriend did not like the old-fashioned ring her boyfriend proposed her with and took to social media to make fun of it.

Getting a beautiful diamond engagement ring is something many girls (if not all) dream of. Where wearing a passed down ring is not an issue, many believe the ring should be pretty at least.

Of course! Engagement rings are super expensive and can cost as much as $10,000. If someone cannot spend that much money, its totally acceptable but, the ring should at least be pretty.

This is all this girlfriend ever wanted but maybe her boyfriend couldn’t afford a new one but really wanted to put a ring on her.

He decided to propose her with an heirloom from her grandmother. I will be honest; the ring looks pretty old school. It’s a gold ring with a large pearl clamped in between.

This isn’t really uncommon and seems like a nice way to pass on a family heirloom. However, the girlfriend was not very happy about it.

She said when he pulled it out of his pocket, it took everything inside of her not to laugh. She said when he pulled it out of his pocket, it took everything inside of her not to laugh.

Nevertheless, her love for her fiancé made her accept the ring and is getting used to it. She says the only reason she is able to tolerate it is because it was his grandmother’s and it has pearl, which is her birthstone.

One of the commenters said that since it was not an everyday ring, it makes a terrible engagement ring. Some comments were super harsh and went as far as saying,

“Oh my god that looks like a ring you’d get out of a coin machine.”

While some were bashing the girl for airing this kind of drama online for all to see and said,

“Hope that guy takes the ring back and runs.”

Other agreed that the ring was a mistake but also thought that this was a conversation to have in private, not on Facebook. They were right though. She should have vented to her friends in private.
