A lot of us have tried to recreate food items from renowned food chains but we could hardly make them like the original ones. Jamie Rust and his group, however, proved themselves and managed to accomplish the amazing challenge of recreating almost all of McDonald's menu.
We had all been craving for Mcnuggets and Big Macs in the pandemic and before McDonald's reopened, a lot of us even tried to recreate these food items but none could make them like the original ones.
Jamie Rust and his group, however, proved themselves and managed to accomplish the amazing challenge of recreating items of famous food chain.
The dad-of-one and his group of mates from Essex took on the Restaurant Roulette challenge run by Altons BBQ World and had to replicate classic dishes from some of the biggest chains around, such as KFC, Nando's and Pizza Express. When the opportunity came up for him to test his skills, he didn't hold back and set out to make his own Big Mac, fries, Filet-O-Fish and apple pie.
"I'm a keen BBQer, taking it more seriously during lockdown, because let's be honest, there's been bugger all else to do. And I've been really pushing myself to create new and interesting things on the BBQ," the 30-year-old revealed while talking about his improved skills due to lockdown.
He further told how the local branch near his place provided him with the packaging that helped in giving an authentic touch to the food.
"I cooked 99 percent of the whole menu, made my own Maccies uniform, and even made a custom Lego toy that looked like me with a set of tongs and a BBQ. The Sausage and Egg McMuffin and Chicken Legend were identical! Everything else was better than Maccies because of the fresh ingredients and seasoning," he added.
With a top score of 9.9/10, Jamie and his team won the challenge and are now ready for the next round.
