Every once in a while, there’s a story that you just pray is a troll trying to get a rise out of the commenters, because if not, it usually turns out into something super cringy and makes you furious like this one.
A father on Reddit whose wife died 10 years ago was curious about how to deal with her daughter's monthly expenses of menstruation and other activities. Hesays he’s a 50-year-old dad whose wife passed away ten years ago. He has two kids, a 17-year-old son called M, and a 15-year-old daughter he calls E. He says he recently was talking with some family members and it came out that E has to do chores around the house and his son does not.
And he thinks he is doing it right because he spends more on his daughter's expenses monthly than on his son. So to balance things out he has thought that his daughter will have to do the cleaning around the house and a few other chores and have to make Four meals a week.
But the people on Reddit are totally not having it and calling this father an a-hole because of his actions and some quite controversial opinions which he is carrying so loudly.
Later he carried on with the thread and said her daughter overheard him saying all this stuff and she was so furious. Obviously, it's not in her hands or it's as if she chooses to bleed every month. These noxious opinions are some very cruel stuff which any woman would hate to hear but here it is, a father. A father who fails to understand her daughter and changes in her body.
“I told her she’d still be doing her chores and life isn’t fair so stop being a brat, or I’d refuse to pay for her extracurricular stuff or pads. I wouldn’t actually do that, but I was mad when I said it. She packed a bag and took off. She’s been staying with my sister who called me an abusive asshole when I demanded she sends E home. My brother and sister are coddling her and I’m furious.” He further added. He also asked if he was doing this the right way or wrong to which 98% of the comments said him an a-hole.
Thousands of people came forward and criticized him for his ways of parenting his daughter. And told him if he’ll keep discriminating between his two children, his daughter will learn to resent him. After a lot of comments, he finally spoke, “My son plays football and baseball while your [sic] daughter is in the choir and a dance group, so yes I do think my son has a better chance at getting a scholarship.” But this answer didn't sit well with all of what he had said before.
