Shaynon and Royce had no idea that their new house was home to more than 150 snakes. It was not until the weather became warmer that the two came across the horrifying situation of snakes slithering out around their house.
A couple was surprised to find a nest containing 150 snakes underneath their new house in Colorado. Shaynon McFadden and Royce Robins had moved into their new house back in 2018 but the couple was unaware of the entire situation at the time. Soon, the two came to know about the horrifying den of snakes that lived in the same property as theirs.
As the weather started to get a bit warmer, the critters started popping up out of the decking and the couple started seeing more and more snakes slithering out around their house.
Talking about the one snake, McFadden told, "My cats had it cornered in the bathroom. We're not sure how it got in, but we got rid of that one right away."
The couple has forked over for pest control, new decking, and a new shed, spending around $8,000 (£6,200). More than 150 snakes have been captured and removed from the property to somewhere else.
Ms. McFadden further told, "We started seeing garter snakeheads popping up in between the wood slats on the ground level patio." As winter turned to spring, so the snakes began to flourish. By this point, they were even getting inside the house, with one coming face to face with the family felines.
