The Chinese officials had finished their investigation when the big Siberian tiger appeared. Afraid and excited at the same time to see the tiger, they rolled up the car windows and took some pictures before trying to drive away slowly. The tiger was intrigued by the new visitors and followed them.
A group of Chinese officials recently came across a wild Siberian tiger while they were on an inspection trip with a local resident. The officials were terrified by their encounter with the deadly animal and could not move from their places out of fear as they saw the big cat from their car while examining a local forest farm in north-eastern China's Jilin Province.
According to a report from the local government, the workers (at the local forestry commission) had been inspecting the Dahuanggou Forest Farm in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, next to the border with North Korea, when they saw the tiger. They had finished their investigation and had gotten into their car when the big Siberian tiger appeared.
Afraid and excited at the same time to see the tiger, they rolled up the car windows and took some pictures before trying to drive away slowly.
The tiger was intrigued by the new visitors and followed them for a while but according to the workers, it showed no intention to attack and lost its interest after a while.
The recorded footage and photographs show the big cat relaxing and stretching its legs. The animal was intrigued at first and stopped to stare at the newcomers (sitting in their car) but then unbothered by the visit, it strolled around the road and disappeared into the woods
"My heart is beating so fast. This is so scary," a female officer can be heard saying in the video.
According to the Yanbian government's report, the spotted Siberian tiger appeared to have been in a healthy condition with a strong physique. With an improved local ecosystem, a growing population of tigers and leopards in the local area had been recorded, the authorities added.
