Chinese actor Gao Liu shares her pictures on social media to warn the world about the dangers of going through plastic surgery. The 24-year old now suffers from a permanent rotting nose because of which she has lost work and faced a fine for breaching her contract.
A Chinese woman was left with a rotten deformed nose after a botched plastic surgery. Actor Gao Liu, 24 shared the distressing images of her damaged nose to share a lesson with others.
Gao has now reached a settlement with the clinic with help of the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission claiming that the surgeon was not qualified enough to perform the procedure on her. The clinic was fined 49,000 Yen (£5,410) for allowing the unqualified doctor to perform surgery there while the surgeon was suspended for six months.
According to Gao, she underwent the surgery at the clinic last year in October. She shares that she was advised to undergo the knife to have costal cartilage surgery, a procedure in which cartilage from the ear is transplanted to the nose.
She added that she went ahead with the procedure and didn't look much into the doctor's background saying that she regrets making a bad call based on a recommendation by a friend.
As a result of this disastrous operation, Gao was left hospitalized for two months and suffered from permanent damage to her nose. Because of the botched surgery, Gao suffered not only from physical disfigurement but lost her work and received fines for breaching her contract.
Only a few months back, a Russian reality TV star begged her followers for help after she was told that she has only one or two months to save her nose following a botched surgery. Anastasia Balinskaya shared disturbing images of her nose on Instagram where she pleaded with her 163,000 followers to help her raise enough money to get a medical intervention to save her nose.
She told her followers that the reaction occurred after an implant in her nose caused an infection and slammed the surgeon for carrying out disastrous work on her. She even urged people to think twice before undergoing cosmetic surgery, warning: "You can't use plastic surgery to boost your self-esteem."
