This Cat Reunites With His Owner In New York After Being Missing For 11 Whole Years

There are incidents that make us believe in miracles. One such miracle happened in New York when a cat who had been missing for 11 whole years reunited with his owner! Here is the story of Tiger and its owner.

Dutchess County SPCA staff member Carol O’Connell spent the last three years watching a stray cat roaming around her neighborhood but could not get close to it for a long time. Recently, the woman contributed a major part in a miracle that reunited a long lost pet with its owner.

Carol did something extraordinary with the help of a chip. “On a whim, she borrowed a scanner from the shelter and discovered the cat was microchipped,” the DCSPCA wrote on Facebook. Carol came to know about the cat's owner through it and this is not the only interesting part. What's amazing is that Tiger had been lost for 11 years!

Tiger was in “remarkably good shape for having been on the streets that long”

“Each year he came to my house, he deteriorated more and more each year, and that’s when I realized either somebody just abandoned him or he just was missing or lost or he was just a feral cat,” O’Connell told the outlet.

According to the doctors, Tiger was in “remarkably good shape for having been on the streets that long.”

“I can’t tell them how grateful I am to them for their persistence and their dedication and for making sure that our cat was okay,” Welz, the cat owner thanked the shelter.

A decade ago, Tiger had escaped from the house accidentally when somebody opened the door.

“We were heartbroken and we ended up a year later moving to another house about 10 houses from that house and we told those owners to keep an eye out for him but he never returned," Welz told while talking about the pet and how it got lost.

Despite being upset about her lost pet for 11 whole years, Welz told she was always confident that her furry friend would one day return home.

“I have no idea where he was for the years in between, I’m sure he could tell us many tales, but the thing is that he is now home with us and he will be with us for the remainder of his life," she added.
