Anthony Hopkins has won the Best Actor Award for his role in The Father and most importantly he has made a record of being the oldest ones in the category. However, on such an eventful night, Anthony was fast asleep in his bed and didn't know he would receive one of the biggest surprises of his life.

Unlike the rest of the world tuning in to watch Hollywood's biggest night, Anthony Hopkins was sound asleep and had no idea when Joaquin Phoenix announced that he had won the Oscar for "Best Actor in a Leading Role" for 'The Father' at Oscars 2021. However, we all are guilty of doing this and have missed something massively significant just because of our sleep

But what Anthony missed was something far more substantial than our silly things. He missed the Oscars and that too sleeping! God knows will he be able to forgive himself or not! Although, I think the award is something so rewarding that he will forget everything and celebrate his success full time at this part of his age.
No doubt, the wonderful actor has proved age doesn't matter at all and what matters is talent.

After the Oscars and the award, he was woken up by his long-time agent Jeremy Barber who revealed this tidbit that the 83-year-old actor was asleep while having the biggest of achievements.

"Tony was in Wales, where he grew up, and he was asleep at 4 in the morning when I woke him up to tell him the news," Jeremy revealed while also sharing Anthony's humble and grateful reaction: "He was so happy and so grateful."

Speaking of Hopkin's Oscar win, Anthony is officially the oldest actor to not just be nominated but also win an Academy Award for Best Actor and it's such a remarkable achievement that we can't even measure his happiness.

Later, in a recorded video on social media, he thanked The Academy awards and the people who supported him throughout.
