Mother of 14 boys finally gave birth to a little girl and the family cannot get enough of her.
Kateri Schwandt, a 45-year-old, mother of 14 boys gave birth to her first baby girl on 5th November and the family is over the moon. This news was recently revealed by the 14 Outdoorsmen’s, a TV show, official Facebook account.
The post read,
“As if 2020 couldn’t any crazier! We are blessed to welcome and announce the birth of our little SISTER, Maggie Jayne. Her and mom are doing well and we couldn’t be more excited!”
Kateri and her husband, Jay Schwandt met when they were children and instantly fell in love. The high school sweethearts got married in 1993. Reportedly, the couple had three sons before graduating from college.
After leaving college, Kateri and Jay both went on to get advanced degrees. Kateri holds a master's degree in social work and Jay has a law degree. He is working as a lawyer and is the owner of a land surveying business.
As much as they wanted a daughter all their life, they were blessed with a son after another. Hence, when their daughter Maggie was born, they were extremely excited. Jay said,
“We are overjoyed and beyond excited to add Maggie Jayne to our family. This year has been memorable in so many ways, for so many reasons, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could ever imagine.”
This year, when Kateri got pregnant, she prayed for a baby girl. According to her, her house had enough testosterone to 'fill a stadium'. Hence, if they had a little girl she would be 'the most spoiled and protected child her entire life, especially during her teenage years.'
The couple's oldest son, Tyler Schwandt, is 28. While talking about her sister, he said,
“My parents were finally blessed with the little girl they never thought they'd end up having. I don't even know if my mom owns any pink clothing or anything.”
This is not the first time the couple made headlines though. Back in 2013, when baby boy number 12 was born the couple received some fame and after that in 2014, just before Francisco was born, they were asked, “Oh boy! Couple with 12 sons expecting baby 13; will they finally get a girl?”
To this, Kateri responded,
“If we have a girl, I think we would go into shock.”
Little baby Maggie is definitely blessed. We wish her a happy life ahead.
